Castle Donington FC started over 30 years ago as fledgling junior boys football club with one team playing in the U10 age group in the Derby Community League.
It was started by a few dads who got together to try to give the youngsters of the village a game of football.
As time progressed one of the founder members Alaln Morgan (still and active member today) persuaded interested dads to run teams for the age group that their offsping were palying in.
Gradually the number of teams increased, and it was then that a more formal structute to the club was formed with a club committee and rules.
Girls football was encouraged and beagn to grow with the hepl of enthusiastic female club memebers.
Fa Charter Standard was acheived, whcih was quickly followed by higher levels of standard till eventually Fa Chater Standard Community Club status was awarded to the club.
This is a fantastic achievment for the club with such a small recruitmant area.
Community status demands there are links to a senior side, so it was decided that the best thing to do for the club was to create its own senior Men's and ladies sides. This it did, but it meant that the name would have to change to acommodate this transformation.
That is why the club is now called Castle Donington FC with a Junior and Senior section.
