LAST MINUTE HEARTACHE!!!!

Back to a full strength team this week we again lost a match we really should have won. Playing with a strong wind behind us in the first half the lead kept changing hands and at half time the score was 3-3. The goals came from Ricky McCree who tapped in from close range, Sam Warren after a lovely run and a superb long range shot from Harry Guilbert. The game could have been different had Donington been awarded a further goal after the ball had clearly crossed the line.

The second half was a different affair as both teams battled hard to try to win the match and Lewis Grimshaw came the closest for Donington as he narrowly failed to score. However as the game entered the final two minutes Ashbourne grabbed the winner following a scramble in the penalty area.

The last two matches have proved that we are getting closer to a good result.
