Castle Donington FC v Visa Versa FC

This week brought North Leicestershire division 2 rivals Visa Versa FC to Castle Donington The game started with the home side providing all the early pressure with forwards Steve Miller, and Andy Exall looking very lively and playing play some good football. The home side’s defence of Milward, Bosworth, Wilkinson, Lee, and Fisher were coping with some very quick Visa Versa forwards. But it was the visitors who scored first when they were awarded a penalty against the run of play. This seemed for a short while to knock back the home side and the visitors then having a good passage of the play. But the home side soon pulled themselves together and again began to dominate play, but as in previous weeks it was the home side’s inability to finish was letting them down. One player that was giving the visitors all sorts of problems was midfielder Daniel Ambalavaner who was playing some great football. The first half ended with the home side trying their best and playing some great football but still unable to get off the mark.

Half Time: Castle Donington 0 v 1 Visa Versa FC

The second half began with neither side dominating until disaster struck for the home side when after a free kick which came to nothing the visitors were allowed to break away and score their second, this seemed to wake up the home side who then went on to dominate the rest of the second half, creating numerous chances on goals but still unable to capitalise on these opportunities, with Mumford, Filsell, Gourlay, Ambalavaner, and Exall all having good strikes on goal. But eventually time ran out and the game ended with the visitors taking the spoils. After the Game Coach Matt Hart said that he had just left a very disappointed dressing room, but added that the team should look at the positive side especially with the overall performance of the team, he was a little disappointed that the team still lacked that clinical finishing in front of goal.

Final score: Castle Donington 0 v 2 Visa Versa Fc
